DS3231 RTC module with 32Kb EEPROM memory

RTC (Real Time Clock) module based on the DS3231 chip

SKU 3085-DS3231RTCEAN 8219671098090Item type: Assembled

Description

The RTC (Real Time Clock) module based on the DS3231 chip is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a highly accurate timekeeping device. With its 32Kb AT24C32 EEPROM memory, this module stores user data reliably. Thanks to the I2C interface, the temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) and the output pin carrying a 32.768 kHz square-wave signal, this module can deliver extremely accurate timekeeping.

The RTC counts seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month and year, with leap-year correction up to 2100, and can work in 12- or 24-hour mode, with AM (ante meridiem) and PM (post meridiem) indication. Thanks to the internal back-up system, the module also keeps data in memory when the power is off.

This module is suitable for any application that needs an accurate time reference. A coin cell battery, to be bought separately, is recommended so that the module keeps running in the event of a power failure.

Technical specifications

Documentation and useful links
If the DS3231RTC module is used with a non-rechargeable CR2032 coin cell, remove the resistor or the diode (or both) inside the red circle to avoid damaging the battery.
