SKU 8250-WSR560Weather stations
Description
The WSR560 weather station is a complete climate monitoring system that lets you follow conditions indoors and outdoors from one compact device. The backlit LCD display shows everything that matters at the same time: indoor temperature and humidity, outdoor temperature and humidity, rainfall figures and a weather forecast given as easily recognisable graphic icons, all readable at a glance with no menus or extra screens to step through.
The system is made up of three parts: the base unit with the display, to be placed indoors; a 433 MHz wireless outdoor sensor with its own small LCD display for local reading; and a rain collector (rain gauge) cabled to the outdoor sensor. The data — temperature, humidity and rainfall — travels wirelessly from the outdoor station to the base, updated every 48 seconds, with a range of up to 30 metres in open ground.
Built for hobbyists, home weather enthusiasts and anyone who wants to follow the climate of their garden, terrace or house, the WSR560 gives more detail than the usual digital thermometer, thanks to its rainfall measurement and its climate comfort index.
Main functions
The rain gauge connected to the outdoor sensor measures rainfall over four time spans: hourly (1H), over the last 24 hours, weekly and total to date. All readings are given in millimetres, alongside a graphic showing how full the collector is and the temperature read by the rain gauge at the moment of measurement.
As for temperature, the outdoor sensor covers a range from -40°C to +70°C, which suits any season and any weather. The indoor unit measures from 0°C to +50°C. The relative humidity range runs from 20% to 90% RH for both sensors, indoor and outdoor. Every reading can be shown in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit using the dedicated button on the back panel. The clock can be set to 12 or 24 hour format and shows the date and the day of the week.
The comfort index is one of the things that sets this product apart: in the indoor temperature section, a graphic smiley face tells you at once whether conditions in the room are in the ideal comfort zone, with no numbers to interpret. The trend arrows beside temperature and humidity let you see whether the values are rising, holding steady or falling.
Local weather forecasts are worked out by the base unit from the outdoor sensor data and shown as standard graphic icons (sun, rain, cloud) at the top of the display. No internet connection is needed: it all happens locally, thanks to the built-in barometric algorithm.
Practical uses
The base unit has a tilted stand on the back so it can sit on any flat surface. The magnetic back lets you fix the station to metal surfaces — a fridge or a steel door — with no holes drilled in walls and no adhesive mounts. There are also holes for conventional wall mounting.
The rain collector goes outdoors in an open spot, cabled to the wireless outdoor sensor. That sensor sends its data to the base on one of three selectable channels (CH1/CH2/CH3), which leaves room to add further compatible sensors later on.
Comfort index and indoor humidity on the LCD display

The WSR560 shows how comfortable the air in the house is in real time, thanks to its built-in graphic indicator and its trend arrows, so you know at once whether things are in the ideal zone.
Local weather forecasts with graphic icons on the LCD display

The outdoor sensor data is processed to produce local weather forecasts in real time, with no internet connection, using clear graphic icons for sun, rain and cloud.
Outdoor temperature range from -40°C to +70°C, for any weather

The outdoor sensor covers an operating range from -40°C to +70°C, the indoor one from 0°C to +50°C, with relative humidity measurable from 20% to 90% RH on both channels.
Temperature, rainfall and comfort index shown together on the LCD

Indoor and outdoor temperature, rainfall in mm and the climate comfort index all appear at the same time on a single LCD display, updated every 48 seconds over a 433 MHz wireless link.
Rainfall measured over four spans: hourly, daily, weekly and total

The rain sensor measures rainfall over four time spans — hourly, 24H, weekly and total — shown in millimetres with a graphic level indicator on the LCD display.
Magnetic back for mounting on metal surfaces without drilling

The magnets built into the back panel let you fix the weather station to any metal surface — fridge, steel door, panel — with no holes drilled in walls and no adhesive mounts.
