Description

The Peak Atlas DCA Pro, also known as DCA75, is the improved version of the DCA55. This device offers a wider component identification library and features a graphic LCD display. Its main features include USB communication and PC software, which make it a smart semiconductor analyzer for transistors, JFETs, voltage regulators, diodes, LEDs, Triacs and many other components. The DCA75 can automatically identify the component type and pinout, displaying numerous component data and performing detailed analysis thanks to the included PC software.

The device’s firmware can be updated online, ensuring the DCA75 always stays up to date with the latest features and component libraries. The probes have gold-plated contacts, ensuring reliable, long-lasting connections.

Power is supplied by a single AAA battery (already housed inside the device), which is not used when the device is connected to the USB port. The device’s compact dimensions (103x70x20 mm) make it easy to carry

 

Technical features

  • The DCA Pro supports all the components that the popular Peak Atlas DCA55 supports, but adds much more.
  • Supported components and stand-alone measurements include:
    – Silicon and germanium transistors (BJT including Darlington and digital transistors). N.B. Unijunction transistors (UJTs) are not currently supported.
    – MOSFET.
    – JFET.
    – IGBT.
    – Diodes and diode networks. Voltage drop measurement at 5 mA.
    – LEDs and bi-colour LEDs (2-terminal and 3-terminal). Measures the forward voltage drop of each LED at 5 mA.
    – Zener diodes with Zener voltage measurement up to 9V at 5 mA.
    – Voltage regulators (with output voltage below 8V, drop-out voltage, quiescent current). Note that some regulators are not stable without a minimum load and cannot be tested by the DCA75.
    – Triacs and thyristors requiring less than 10 mA of gate current and holding current.
    – Stand-alone or PC-connected operation: in both cases, Peak Atlas DCA Pro automatically identifies the component type, the pinout and a range of component parameters such as transistor gain, leakage, MOSFET and IGBT threshold voltages, characteristics and much more.

  • When connected to a PC, a range of functions and graphs can be displayed:
    – Bipolar transistor output characteristics, IC vs VCE.
    – Bipolar transistor gain characteristics, hFE vs VCE.
    – Bipolar transistor gain characteristics, hFE vs IC.
    – MOSFET and IGBT output function, ID vs VDS.
    – MOSFET and IGBT transfer function, ID vs VGS.
    – JFET output function, ID vs VDS.
    – JFET transfer function, ID vs VGS.
    – Voltage regulator, VOUT vs VIN.
    – Voltage regulator, IQ vs VIN.
    – Current and voltage curves for zener diode PN junctions.
    – Curve plotting is performed using test parameters in the range of +/- 12 V, +/- 12 mA. All graphs can be pasted into Excel© for further analysis.
    – The software runs under Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.
