Description

This demoboard, built around the powerful JR6001 MP3 module, is a handy device for playing short audio tracks (MP3 and WAV), such as voice messages saved as MP3 files. Its internal memory, a 4MB Flash EPROM, holds a set of audio tracks that can easily be loaded over a USB connection to a PC. Seen by the operating system as an ordinary pen drive, the device makes handling audio files straightforward, with no dedicated software needed.

The 20-key keypad gives intuitive control over playback. Of the 20 keys, 16 are dedicated to playing the wanted audio track, while the other 4 keys are reserved for the basic functions of the MP3 module, such as play, stop and volume control.

The audio output is brought out on the SPK contacts, where a loudspeaker can be connected to listen to the voice messages. Alternatively, the stereo jack socket takes headphones for private listening. The JR6001 MP3 module is designed specifically to work from local pushbutton commands, which makes playing audio files simple and intuitive (within the limits of the 4MB memory). That ease of use, together with the ability to play up to 16 tracks, makes the device ideal for applications such as announcements, promotions or spoken instructions in all kinds of settings.

The kit is supplied with assembly instructions. Soldering is required to assemble it.

Note: the power supply and the JR6001 MP3 module (code MP3PLAYERUSB) are not included and must be purchased separately.
