Description

Turn any corner of the house into a warm, atmospheric and slightly magical place with this LED light effects board, a lighting gadget built to surprise grown-ups and children alike. Compact, creative and full of character, the module carries a PIC12F683 microcontroller programmed with a full 17 light sequences, each one meant to give a different feeling: from soft, subdued moods to the liveliest patterns, from the classic effects to more unusual ones borrowed from the world of music.

You can move from gentle, relaxing effects such as the fade or the heartbeat to more energetic ones such as the chaser, the ping-pong, the random pattern or the strobe effects. There is no shortage of artistic touches either, such as the spiral, the candle effect or the warm/cool alternation, perfect for Christmas decorations, nativity scenes, lighting displays and DIY projects.

The most surprising effect of all is Psychedelic, a sequence born from an unusual collaboration between programming and artificial intelligence: a miniature disco in its own right, inspired by the dance rhythms of the ’90s, with light patterns that imitate beat, syncopation and musical build-ups.

Important note: the board comes assembled and programmed; to make it work you have to connect external LEDs with the recommended current-limiting resistors. The LEDs and the resistors are not included and must be bought separately.

17 light effects to turn any space into a magical atmosphere
  1. On/Off – Slow switching on and off that speeds up into a very fast flash.
  2. Random – Unpredictable combinations of the four LEDs, changing every tenth of a second.
  3. Binary Counter – A count shown in binary code on the LEDs.
  4. Warm/Cool Alternation – Rhythmic alternation between warm colours (red/yellow) and cool ones (green/blue).
  5. Chaser – The LEDs light one at a time in a circular sequence.
  6. Fade – Soft fade-in and fade-out of all the LEDs.
  7. Cross Fade – Gradual transition between warm and cool colours, in both directions.
  8. Three Flashes – Three quick flashes of the warm colours followed by three flashes of the cool ones.
  9. Long On – Five half-second pulses of light separated by short pauses.
  10. Odd/Even – Fast alternation between the yellow/blue and the red/green LEDs.
  11. Candle Effect – Random flicker that imitates a live flame.
  12. Ping Pong – The light bounces back and forth between the four LEDs.
  13. Spiral – Progressive lighting in both directions, for an expanding/contracting effect.
  14. Heartbeat – A quick double beat followed by a gradual fade to off.
  15. Psychedelic – Light patterns inspired by ’90s dance rhythms, generated with AI.
  16. Soft Chase – The LEDs fade up and down one after the other.
  17. Sparks – Very short random flashes that imitate the twinkle of small stars.
