Description

Development board based on the ESP32 Dual Core ESP-WROOM-32 with built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2 (BR/EDR and BLE) connectivity.

It features a 3.5″ resistive touch TFT display with a dedicated controller and support for the main graphics libraries, including LVGL and TFT_eSPI, for building user interfaces and control panels.

The board has a MicroSD slot for storing data, images and fonts, connectors for I2C and UART peripherals and dedicated pads for powering it from a lithium battery.

Programming is done through the USB-C port with a built-in CH340 USB-UART converter and an auto-reset circuit compatible with Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF and PlatformIO.

The main components on the back of the display include the ESP-WROOM-32 module, the TF (MicroSD) card slot, the I/O expansion, the interface for temperature and humidity sensors, the Type-C port, the 4P 1.25 mm power connector, the microphone, the reset button and the BOOT/START button.

The board supports several programming environments:

  • Arduino IDE: a widely used development environment, with plenty of libraries and community support for ESP32 development.
  • ESP-IDF (Espressif IoT Development Framework): Espressif’s official framework for advanced ESP32 development.
  • MicroPython: allows programming in Python, simplifying the development of embedded applications.
  • Mixly: a Blockly-based visual programming environment, suited to teaching and block-based development.
