Description

Optical fingerprint reader featuring a high-speed DSP processor, high-performance recognition algorithm, Flash memory, and TTL serial interface for direct connection to microcontrollers or to a PC via a USB-serial adapter. The user can store fingerprint data (up to 162) in the module and can configure 1:1 or 1:N mode (see below for details) to identify people. Particularly suitable for access control, relay activation, automatic door opening, etc.

1:1 and 1:N Modes

In 1:1 mode, the fingerprint of the finger placed on the sensor window is compared against a specific fingerprint, while in 1:N mode it is compared against all stored fingerprints. So in the first, you compare your finger against a specific fingerprint. In the second, you compare against the entire database of stored ones.
