Description

Colour camera with a 2.4″ colour LCD monitor, built-in microphone, speaker and suction-cup mount. Designed to be fitted to a car windscreen, it lets you capture stills or video (HD). The monitor shows what the camera is filming and recording. Video sequences and stills are saved on the micro SD card (max. 32 GB – not included). Recording starts when the camera gets power from the cigarette lighter and stops when that power is removed. It can also be started by hand, or set to record only while the vehicle is moving. Useful for insurance purposes, or purely for fun!
The pack contains: the dash cam, the suction-cup car mount, the car power adapter and instructions.

Technical specifications
  • Video recording:

    – when the memory runs out of space the recording is overwritten
  • Power supply: the device has a built-in 180 mAh lithium-ion battery that can be charged through a USB port (USB cable not included) or through the cigarette lighter socket (adapter cable included)
 FAQ
With no power from the cigarette lighter the battery lasts almost no time at all What you are seeing is correct if the run time is around 5 to 10 seconds. The battery only has to guarantee a minimum run time, so that the file being recorded is closed automatically. The device was not designed to run on battery.

Does the battery need replacing often, given that “Low battery” is shown a few seconds after the cigarette lighter is unplugged? Despite what is shown on screen, the battery never reaches a voltage that counts as ‘discharged’, as normally happens in battery-powered devices; it is therefore always kept in perfect condition, to guarantee the battery its natural life. The battery only has to allow enough run time to close the file being recorded automatically if the cigarette lighter voltage fails.

When the device is powered from outside the battery is always charging, but when the device is off no LED shows that the battery is charging That is correct behaviour.

With the external power removed the device switches off immediately. At the next power-up the date and time are reset to zero, along with other settings This is a fault in the unit, so we recommend returning the product following the guidelines given in the general terms and conditions of sale.
