Description

Microchip Curiosity is a development board equipped with an 8-bit PIC16F1619 microcontroller. Economical and fully integrated, it is aimed at beginner users, Makers, and anyone looking for a feature-rich prototyping board. Designed to take full advantage of Microchip’s MPLAB X development environment, Curiosity includes an integrated programmer/debugger and requires no additional hardware to get started.

Microchip Curiosity is the perfect platform to harness the power of modern 8-bit PIC® microcontrollers. The layout and external connections ensure easy access to the Core Independent Peripherals (CIP) available on many recent 8-bit PIC MCUs. These CIPs allow the user to integrate various system functions on a single MCU, simplifying design while keeping system power consumption and BOM costs low.

Curiosity is ready for the Internet of Things and offers several user interface options, including physical switches, an mTouch™ capacitive button, and an integrated potentiometer. It also features a socket for the RN4020 Bluetooth module (not included), and the MikroElektronika MikroBUS™ interface socket, which allows the use of over 100 Click™ Boards (not included – see related products).
