Description

The FSWHD02 is a professional-grade pin-type moisture meter. It is aimed at people who work with wood every day: joiners, floor layers, furniture makers, building technicians and demanding hobbyists. In a single pocket-sized instrument it measures wood moisture, ambient temperature and relative air humidity.

The measuring principle is the pin type: the two electrodes penetrate just below the surface of the material and read the moisture content in about half a second, with a resolution of 0.1%.

Pin-type moisture meter with 7 modes

The instrument offers seven selectable modes, from A to G. Each mode has a range optimised for a given type of wood or material: mode A for very damp wood (12.4%–55%), for instance, through to mode D for very dry wood (0.1%–11%). That way you get consistent readings on any species.

The 2-inch colour LCD shows wood moisture, temperature and air humidity together, refreshed in real time every half second. You can choose a light or dark theme and adjust the brightness.

Alarms, memory and HOLD function

The HOLD function freezes the reading with a short press; a second press opens the history curve of the readings. You can also set independent minimum and maximum thresholds.

When a threshold is crossed the instrument warns you with vibration, a buzzer or a visual indicator, and it stores up to 30 records with date and time. The battery recharges over USB Type-C and the firmware can be updated the same way.

Out on the job the instrument earns its place in joinery and solid-wood work. It helps when laying and testing wooden floors and in the production of furniture and window frames. It also measures moisture in plastered walls, which makes it useful for building inspections and surveys.
