How it works
You may find yourself in situations where your own hearing is not enough, or where you want to listen to a noise coming from some distant spot, or to a voice from far away; in cases like these a device such as the FK019 can come in handy.
The circuit consists essentially of a microphone that picks up the sound, which is then amplified by a transistor stage and amplified again to the right level so that it can be listened to through ordinary headphones plugged into the 3.5 mm “Audio out” jack socket. The volume is adjusted with trimmer RP1.
The device has to be powered by a CR2032 button cell. Power can then be switched on and off at any time with switch S1, so that the unit is used only when needed and the battery lasts longer.
