Description

Hexagonal touch module based on the TTP223N-HA6 chip, built with SMD technology and fitted with 7 high-efficiency LUXEON 2835 LEDs (L128-4095HA35000B1). Ideal for building lamps, or any other project where the lights are switched on and off by touch.

The touch sensor needs no setting up: it calibrates itself automatically while in use, adapting to the conditions where it is installed.

A conductive electrode has to be soldered to the TOUCH pad, shown in the picture below: a metal plate or a wire that works as the antenna/electrode for switching the light by touch. The module runs on a 5 Vdc supply and draws about 250 mA.

The light can work in two modes:

  • Toggle mode: one touch turns the light on, the next touch fades it out.
  • Direct mode: the light stays on for as long as the touch area is held, and fades out when it is released.

Soldering is required to complete the assembly. Supplied with assembly instructions.

How it works

The module comes with the SMD components already fitted, but the 5 mm pitch terminal block has to be soldered on, along with the connectors on the six sides if you want to build it up as a modular assembly.
