With a single-phase inductive sensor, this breakout board measures an alternating current (max. 5 A) flowing through a cable, simply by passing the cable through the hole in the sensor. The output is a current about 1000 times smaller than the one in the cable (for example: a current of 5 A gives 5 mA at the output).
