Description

Ethernet module for the brand-new Tibbo platform called EM1000-01, programmable in Basic for the development of embedded-industrial-networking applications. The operating system, development tools, and the Tibbo Basic language are available free of charge on www.tibbo.com. The module features a 100Base T Ethernet port and 1024 kB of Flash memory. The new EM1000-01 platform, for performance and cost, finds its natural use in the development of applications for home automation, telemetry, and industrial automation. It has a connector into which the WA1000 Wi-Fi module can be inserted.

Technical specifications

  • RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) processor: 88 MIPS
  • 100Base T Ethernet port with Auto-MDIX (automatic detection of crossover and straight-through cables)
  • Supported protocols:
    – UDP; TCP; ICMP (ping); DHCP; HTTP
  • Up to 16 simultaneous UDP or TCP (HTTP) connections
  • Ability to implement additional protocols (e.g., SMTP) via custom BASIC applications
  • 4 high-speed serial ports (CMOS-level) that can communicate in UART, Wiegand, and clock/data modes.
    – In UART mode, the TX and RX lines are controlled by dedicated hardware UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter)
    – In clock/data and Wiegand modes, the TX and RX pins are controlled by TiOS (Tibbo Operating System) firmware
  • 49 I/O lines
  • 8 interrupt lines triggerable by positive or negative signal
  • Programmable square wave generator (6 Hz – 22.1184 MHz) for buzzer control
  • 1024 kByte Flash memory
    – 64 kByte are occupied by the firmware (TiOS)
  • 2 kByte of EEPROM memory
  • Real Time Counter (RTC)
  • PLL (Phase Locked Loop) for controlling the device clock frequency
  • Reliable power-on/brown-out reset circuit; no external reset circuit is required
