Description

Small I2C module based on the MAX30102 pulse oximetry sensor, able to measure the amount of bound haemoglobin in the blood and the heart rate without breaking the skin. It is made up of two LEDs (one red at 660 nm and the other infrared at 880 nm) and a photodiode that picks up the light reflected by the tissue to work out the percentage of haemoglobin saturated with oxygen.
It also has a proximity function to save power and to cut the visible light emission when the user’s finger is not on the sensor.
The module can be switched off in software. In standby the current draw is almost zero (0.7 µA).
I2C communication interface, power supply from 2.5 to 5.5 VDC, operating temperature: -40°C to +85°C, dimensions (mm): 12.7×12.7×4.
