Description

This NC 50°C thermal switch is a protection device designed to monitor and manage overheating in electrical circuits. The term “NC” (Normally Closed) means that the switch contact is closed under normal conditions and opens when the temperature reaches 50°C. This interrupts the current flow to the circuit to prevent damage caused by an excessive rise in temperature.

The device has a heat-sensitive element that detects the ambient temperature and, once the 50°C threshold is exceeded, triggers the contact-opening mechanism. Once the temperature drops below the critical value, the contact closes automatically, allowing the circuit to be restored.

The NC 50°C thermal switch is commonly used in applications where electric motors, electronic equipment, battery power supplies and electrical systems need to be protected from damage caused by high temperatures. It is particularly useful in devices that operate in environments with thermal fluctuations or that could overheat due to malfunctions.

Fields of use
  • Fan or cooling system control
    The switch opens the circuit when it reaches 50 °C, automatically activating fans or cooling systems.
  • Thermal signalling (LED or buzzer)
    Used to trigger visual or audible signals (e.g. LED or buzzer) that warn when the thermal threshold is exceeded.
  • Logic command for microcontrollers
    Can provide an input signal to a microcontroller when the temperature threshold is exceeded.
  • Temperature-based load activation
    Fitted in a circuit where you want to activate a component only when the temperature exceeds 50 °C (e.g. resistors, relays, indicators, etc.).
