Description

This NO 50°C thermal switch is a protection device designed to monitor and manage overheating in electrical circuits. The term “NO” (Normally Open) means that the switch contact is open under normal conditions and closes when the temperature reaches 50°C. This allows, for example, a cooling system or an alarm to be activated in the event of overheating.

The device features a temperature-sensitive thermal element that detects the ambient temperature and, once the 50°C threshold is exceeded, activates the contact-closing mechanism. Once the temperature drops back below the critical value, the contact reopens automatically, restoring the circuit.

The NO 50°C thermal switch is commonly used in applications where it is necessary to protect electric motors, electronic equipment, battery power supplies and electrical systems from damage caused by high temperatures. It is particularly useful in devices that operate in environments with temperature fluctuations or that could overheat due to malfunctions.

Fields of use
  • Fan or cooling system control
The switch closes the circuit when it reaches 50 °C, automatically activating fans or cooling systems.
  • Thermal signaling (LED or buzzer)
Used to trigger visual or audible signals (e.g. LED or buzzer) that warn when the thermal threshold has been exceeded.
  • Logic control for microcontrollers
Can provide an input signal to a microcontroller when the temperature threshold is exceeded.
  • Temperature-based load activation
Used in a circuit where a component should only be activated when the temperature exceeds 50 °C (e.g. resistors, relays, indicators, etc.).
Technical specifications
  • Sensor material:
Bimetal: the sensor is made of two metals with different thermal expansion coefficients; when the activation temperature is reached, the bending of the bimetallic strip opens or closes the electrical contact.
  • Reset: automatic (when the temperature drops below the threshold value)
