Description
UGV Beast is a tracked robotic platform designed to tackle complex terrain with ease, built for research and development work in robotics and artificial intelligence. Its all-aluminium structure offers strength and durability, making it suitable for both indoor testing and outdoor missions, where stability and resistance are essential. The tracks, combined with an independent suspension system, provide smooth traction and excellent obstacle-clearing ability, turning it into a true miniature off-road vehicle.
At the heart of the system is a dual-controller architecture: an ESP32 (included) dedicated to managing the motors, sensors and onboard peripherals, and a Raspberry Pi 5 (available separately, see related products), which provides the processing power needed for advanced computer vision and autonomous control applications. This division of tasks ensures stability and responsiveness, letting the user focus on developing custom algorithms and functions without worrying about low-level management.
One of the Beast’s strengths is its vision system. The 5-megapixel wide-angle camera (included), mounted on a two-axis pan-tilt head, offers wide visual exploration possibilities, supported by powerful LEDs for use even in low-light conditions. Remote control is simple and immediate via browser, with no extra installation required: just access the built-in web app to view the real-time video stream, drive the robot’s movements and monitor vital parameters such as battery status, CPU and memory. It can also be controlled with the joystick included in the package.
The Beast is also designed to be easily expandable: thanks to the standard rails and the multi-function plate, accessories such as lidar, stereo cameras or other dedicated sensors can be fitted. Combined with ROS2 support and dedicated kits, it becomes an ideal platform for mapping, autonomous navigation and artificial intelligence projects applied to mobile robotics.
Powered by three 18650 batteries (available separately, see related products) with a built-in UPS module, the robot can be recharged without interrupting operations, giving it considerable autonomy and practicality. Rounding out the package are open-source resources, detailed documentation and interactive tutorials, making it suitable not only for researchers and experts but also for students and makers who want to get into advanced robotics with a powerful, reliable platform that can grow alongside their ideas.

The heart of the UGV Beast is a combination of power and reliability: the Raspberry Pi 5 (not included) acts as the host controller, handling artificial intelligence, computer vision, real-time video streaming via WebRTC and advanced Python and ROS2 applications.
Working alongside it is the ESP32 sub-controller, responsible for low-level control: high-frequency PID regulation, motor speed management, pan-tilt system control and feedback, IMU sensor reading and battery monitoring.
This balanced architecture lets the robot combine advanced computing power with immediate responsiveness, ensuring stability and performance even in complex scenarios.

The UGV Beast features an advanced vision system with 360° horizontal rotation and 120° vertical rotation, providing an extremely wide field of view.
