Description

Thanks to an algorithm implemented in a microcontroller and a high-precision accelerometer, this very small module (about 10x9x3 mm) allows you to create a pedometer for use in various types of systems.

The module can provide step information in two ways:

  • through an interrupt pin connected directly to the MEMS accelerometer chip and brought out to a pad (STEP_OUT pin); in this case, a logic level transition from 0 to 1 lasting 50 ms is available for each step;
  • by querying the microcontroller on demand via the I²C bus, which acquires the step signal from the MEMS accelerometer and responds with a data string containing the requested information.
