Description

Module with 4 white LEDs, based on the TAOS TCS3200 chip, a light-to-frequency color converter. It consists of 16 photodiodes with blue filters, 16 with green filters, 16 with red filters, and 16 unfiltered. All photodiodes of the same color are connected in parallel. When an object is placed in front of the module, at a distance not exceeding 10 mm, it is illuminated by the 4 white LEDs, and the reflected light hits the 64 photodiodes, producing a square wave (50% duty cycle) with a frequency directly proportional to the intensity of the reflected light. The full-scale output frequency can be set to one of three preset values via two control input pins (S0 and S1). Pins S2 and S3 are used to select which group of photodiodes (red, green, blue, clear) is active.
