Infrared sensor able to detect an obstacle at a distance between 10 and 80 cm

SKU 1606-GP2Y0A21YKEAN 8219671111720Item type: Assembled

Description

Infrared sensor able to detect an obstacle at a distance between 10 and 80 cm. The sensor outputs a voltage that varies with distance. To read the measured distance the output must be connected to a microcontroller or to an analogue-to-digital converter, or it can be fed to a comparator for threshold detection. Ideal for robotics, automation and similar applications.

Note: connecting cable included.

Example of use with Arduino (not included)

Output voltage versus distance
This sensor provides an analogue output signal that varies with the distance between the sensor and the object in front of it. The output voltage ranges from 2.3 volts when an object is 10 cm away to 0.4 V when an object is 80 cm away.
