Description
The MD20A enables bidirectional control of a brushed DC motor with a supply voltage between 6 and 30 VDC and a current of 20 A. It uses an H-bridge made of NMOS for better efficiency and allows operation without any heat sink.
It features a terminal block for connecting the motor and supply voltage, two test buttons, and status LEDs (motor outputs, power, error, and overcurrent).
It can be controlled with PWM and DIR inputs. With a logic voltage range between 1.8 V and 12 V, it is compatible with a wide range of controllers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and PLCs.
It is also equipped with overcurrent protection, thermal protection, and shutdown in case of insufficient supply. The overcurrent protection prevents motor damage when the motor stalls or an oversized motor is connected. When the motor attempts to draw more current than the driver supports, the motor current will be limited to the maximum threshold.
Thermal protection is determined by the board temperature. The higher the board temperature, the lower the current limiting threshold. This way, the MD20A can deliver its full potential depending on actual conditions without damaging the MOSFETs.
It can be used in robotic platforms, pump control, electric fans, conveyor belts, and more.
Warning! The power input does not have reverse polarity protection.
