ABS is a plastic material particularly well suited to 3D printing. Many everyday products are printed with it, such as bowls, home accessories and parts for scooters and cars. Chemically, ABS is Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, a copolymer created by combining three different materials to obtain strength, a glossy appearance and elasticity. ABS can be formulated with different proportions of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene to vary its melting temperature, its strength and its plasticity, while adding pigments makes it possible to change the colour of the material, which would otherwise be neutral. The extrusion temperature of ABS ranges between 240 and 260 degrees.
