ABS is a plastic material particularly suitable for 3D printing. Many common products are printed with it, such as bowls, home decor items, and parts of scooters and cars. Chemically, ABS is Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, a copolymer created by combining three different materials to achieve strength, glossy appearance, and elasticity. ABS can be formulated with different proportions of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene to vary the melting temperature, strength, and plasticity, while the addition of pigments allows the color of the material to be varied, which would otherwise be neutral. The extrusion temperature of ABS ranges between 240 and 260 degrees.
