Additional information

PLA, polylactic acid, is a bio-based material obtained through the polymerization of lactic acid, which is derived from corn starch and sugarcane. It is biodegradable under suitable climatic and environmental conditions. For 3D printing, it offers interesting characteristics such as a melting temperature around 160°C, which increases depending on any other components added for coloring, and greater plasticity. PLA is rapidly spreading as a printing material both for its particularly attractive colors and transparencies and for the fewer printing-related issues. PLA parts are nevertheless strong enough to create printer parts.
