Blebrick Bluetooth Low Energy BLE 4.2

Smart device that communicates over Bluetooth® Low Energy and works together with the other Blebricks.

SKU 7300-BLE-BItem type: Assembled, Board

Description

The BLE-B is a smart device that communicates over Bluetooth® Low Energy and configures itself automatically to work together with the other Blebricks. Blebricks add further functions when they are connected together: sensors, actuators or communication modules (which allow a direct Internet connection, e.g. LP-WAN modules). The BLE-B can be configured through our Software Suite (which includes the app and the online tools). It can send notifications to your smartphone when the air is too polluted, tell you when your plants need watering, or more generally trigger a chain of actions that let you try your bright idea out on the spot!

BLE-B features
The main features of the BLE-B are: full configuration from the App, datalogger, low power mode, indoor positioning and RTLS, over-the-air firmware updates and plenty more. Together they make it a one-of-a-kind technology and a step ahead of rapid prototyping platforms and of the ordinary beacons on the market.

IFTTT
For smart automation enthusiasts, the BLE-B also works with the IFTTT (If This Then That) service. IFTTT automates smart devices of every kind: opening an app, switching a device on, right through to the home automation of an entire house. That covers lighting, and automating the switching on and off of appliances or of the heating system.

Blebricks: instant prototyping for IoT, smart sensors and RFID

The Internet of Things is finally within everyone’s reach.

Blebricks are smart bricks built on a patented technology: assemble them and you create new electronic devices that talk to each other wirelessly.

The technology lets you build devices even without technical skills in electronics or programming. Prototyping is instant, which is why it appeals to anyone who wants to build a device of their own quickly and simply.

How is it done? Very simply

Each Blebrick performs one specific function. You can choose from a wide range of sensors, actuators, power and communication devices: motion sensors, environmental sensors, CO2 sensors, infrared sensors and air quality sensors, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and LP-WAN communication devices, to name just a few.

To add the functions you want, simply clip the Blebricks together. They configure themselves automatically to work as one, and the prototype of your device is ready straight away!

You can view the sensor data and interact with it (locally, from your smartphone) using our MakeApp for Android devices. If instead you want to build a custom app, you can do that with MIT App Inventor.

Finally, you can interact with your Blebricks wherever you happen to be, simply by connecting them to the Internet and signing in to the Bricksboard portal.

Thanks to this highly innovative technology, you can cut development time and costs by more than 90% on the way from idea to product. And because they draw so little power, Blebricks also suit the development of battery-powered, portable or wearable devices.

The modular nature of Blebricks means the finished product is cheaper and quicker to build. Take a look at our Fast Route To Production.
