BLEBRICK with ESP32 Wi-Fi Module

It can forward the data gathered by the local Blebricks to the Wi-Fi network at an interval you set.

SKU 7300-BLEBESP32Item type: Assembled, Shields & add-ons

Description

The Blebrick ESP is a communication and data processing brick built around an ESP32 module. It can be used to add the following functions:

  • Wi-Fi communication (with Smartconfig)
  • Wi-Fi gateway (together with the BLE-B)
  • Edge computing (pre-processing), programmable with the Arduino IDE
  • Green Pass reader, with the ESP-BCR (BarCodeReader) shield
  • CAM module, with the ESP-CAM shield
  • SD memory module, with the ESP-SD shield
  • Other advanced functions on request

Configuration

The Blebrick ESP can forward the data gathered by the local Blebricks to the Wi-Fi network at an interval you set.

Through SmartConfig you can set the data sending interval, the network credentials (name and password) and the broker address (data is sent over the MQTT protocol).

Being a data processing Blebrick based on the ESP32, the ESP can be programmed by an experienced user to carry out edge processing.

Dimensions (mm): 22.5×55.5×5

Makeapp

When the Blebrick ESP is connected to your BLE-B, the MakeApp shows the connection status of the Wi-Fi network and of the MQTT broker, and lets you start the SmartConfig procedure.

Blebricks: instant prototyping for IoT, smart sensors and RFID

The internet of things is finally within everyone’s reach.

Blebricks are smart building blocks made with a patented technology: put them together and you create new electronic devices that talk to each other wirelessly.

The technology lets you build devices even without any background in electronics or programming. Prototyping is instant, which is why it appeals to anyone who wants to build a device of their own quickly and easily.

How does it work? It could not be simpler

Each Blebrick performs one specific function. You can choose from a wide range of sensors, actuators, power and communication devices: motion sensors, environmental sensors, CO2 sensors, infrared sensors and air quality sensors, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and LP-WAN communication devices, to name but a few.

To add the functions you want, simply clip the Blebricks together. They configure themselves to work as one, and your device prototype is ready straight away!

You can view your sensor data and interact with it (locally, from your smartphone) using our MakeApp for Android devices. If instead you want to build an app of your own, you can do it with MIT App Inventor.

Finally, you can interact with your Blebricks wherever you are, simply by connecting them to the Internet and logging in to the Bricksboard portal.

Thanks to this highly innovative technology, you can cut more than 90% of the time and cost of development in going from idea to product. And because they draw very little power, Blebricks also suit the development of battery-powered, portable or wearable devices.

The modular nature of Blebricks means you can build a finished product more cheaply and more quickly. Discover our Fast Route To Production.
