Description

Board with Ethernet interface featuring 4 N.O. and N.C. relay outputs (24 Vdc or 250 Vac / 16 A) each with its own status LED, 4 analogue inputs, 8 digital I/O, plus Ethernet and power status LEDs. It can be controlled over a LAN (Local Area Network), from a smartphone or through the Internet. Using Devantech’s powerful dScript language you can add your own functions and controls (to the modules that use this language), create a custom web page, add your own logo, buttons and features, add a TCP server, answer incoming TCP requests with your own functions, include a TCP client and send TCP data packets to other devices using your own protocol. Power supply: 12 Vdc-500 mA, dimensions (mm): 143x84x20. The board is supplied ready assembled and tested.

dScript – programming language for IoT (Internet of Things)

dScript, derived from Devantech’s scripting language, is a multi-threaded language for connecting Devantech relay modules (those that use the dScript language) to the Internet. It is a program that compiles the source code so that it is interpreted by the firmware of the on-board module. dScript is an editor, a compiler and a programmer for every dScript-enabled module. Although dScript is not BASIC, the syntax will be familiar to anyone who has used Visual Basic or small chips programmable in Basic.

Multithreading
Multi-threading is the ability to run many parts of the program at the same time. It is like having a separate CPU for each part of the program. Each part or section of the program is called a thread. dScript is a native multi-threading compiler. Any number of threads can be created, up to the limit of the available RAM.

Web Server
Using the dScript web server you can write your own web pages and upload them to the module. The website can display your variables in any way you like, using AJAX techniques to keep them live and up to date. You can use buttons on the web page to control the module, use CSS to style your website and include images, logos and so on.

Safe and secure
Using a technique similar to the way banks check that you are the owner of a credit card, only your own browser/device combination lets you reach the web pages. The server sends three independent random numbers that select three random characters from a pre-stored password. These are encrypted and stored as a cookie. It is this cookie that allows the web page to be displayed. The cookie is deleted when the browser is closed, and is also invalidated by the server after a few seconds of inactivity or when you log out. The result is that you, and only you, can reach the web page.
