Description

The HMMD (Human Micro-Motion Detection) mmWave radar sensor is a professional solution for advanced detection of human micro-motion, even when people stay still. Based on 24 GHz FMCW radar technology, this compact 20×20 mm module integrates the SXKMXXX0 AIoT chip with a high-performance antenna, for accurate and extremely reliable detection.

HMMD stands for Human Micro-Motion Detection: this sensor is designed to pick up even the faintest signs of presence, such as breathing or slight body shifts, which makes it ideal for applications where plain motion detection is not enough. It is perfect for smart home projects, building automation, intelligent lighting and advanced security systems.

Thanks to its UART and GPIO interfaces, it can easily be integrated with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano and other controller boards. The module provides settings for human body detection and comes with full documentation and a number of ready-to-run demos.

The sensor detects movement up to 10 m away and micro-motion up to 6 m (wall mounting), with a resolution of 0.7 m, an accuracy of 0.15 m and a detection angle of ±60°. Average consumption of just 50 mA and a data refresh cycle every 100 ms make it both efficient and responsive. The UART protocol lets you set sensitivity, range and the absence reporting delay.
