LED Lamp with 18 High-Brightness LEDs, IR Control and Box

SKU 7100-FK045Item type: Assembled, Kit, ,

Description

The FK045 LED lamp is a complete electronic kit with 18 high-brightness LEDs, dual power supply and IR remote control. Ideal for teaching, home or outdoor use, it lets you build a handy lamp and understand how the circuit works step by step. A useful, enjoyable project, perfect for electronics enthusiasts.

LED lamp in kit form (available as a solder-it-yourself version or ready assembled) useful for a wide range of applications, supplied complete with a clear plastic enclosure. Once you have soldered its 18 high-brightness LEDs, you will have in your hands a lamp designed to suit any situation, from the desk at home to adventures in the open air. Two brightness levels selectable with a button.

Building it lets you understand how fundamental parts work, such as the CD4017 decade counter, driver transistors and infrared receivers. The final satisfaction will not only be seeing it lit, but having understood every single step of its circuit.

Freedom of Movement and Endless Runtime

The real strength of the LED lamp lies in its dual power management, which makes it perfect for two opposite scenarios:

  • On the Move and at Play: Powered by an ordinary 9V battery (housed in the box included), the lamp becomes fully portable. It is the ideal answer for camping, for lighting the inside of a tent or for going along with children on their night-time adventures around the house or in the garden, in complete safety.
  • Fixed Position: When you are at your desk or using it as a fixed night light, you can connect an external 9Vcc power supply. As soon as the plug goes in, the battery is switched out automatically, giving you endless runtime without using up batteries and making it a reliable light source for long spells.

The Comfort of “Smart” Remote Control

Forget having to get up to switch the light off. The FK045 has a built-in infrared (IR) receiver that adds a surprising amount of convenience:

  • Universal Compatibility: The circuit is tuned to the standard 38 kHz frequency. That means you can use an ordinary TV remote or DVD remote to switch the lamp on and off from a distance.
  • No More Interruptions: If you are already in bed or busy with something else, you will not have to reach for the physical button on the board; a single click on the remote you already have on the bedside table is enough to control the lighting.
