Description

Torpedo is a SEPIC-configuration switching power supply with a LiPo battery charger. It features three different power sources (USB, battery, and external); input voltage from 3 to 20 V, minimum output current of 500 mA with the ability to reach 1 A and beyond with an external source; conversion efficiency above 70%; built-in single-cell LiPo charger; seamless transition from battery power to another source without interruption; 5 V output with high stability under varying load and low ripple. The charger is built around the well-known MCP73831-2 IC, designed for charging single-cell LiPo batteries at 3.7 V. A red LED indicates charging status (on for charging, off for charged, and off or blinking for no battery). Power supply connections: PWR is the output, BAT the battery connection, PS1 the main power input, and USB IN the USB power input.
