Additional Information

PLA, Polylactic Acid, is a bio-based material as it is obtained through the polymerization of lactic acid. This derives from corn starch and sugar cane and is biodegradable under suitable climatic and environmental conditions. For 3D printing, it presents interesting characteristics such as a melting temperature around 160 degrees, which increases depending on any other components added for coloring and greater plasticity. PLA is rapidly spreading as a printing material both for its particularly attractive colors and transparencies, and for the fewer problems related to printing. PLA parts are nonetheless sufficiently resistant to create printer parts.
