| PETG (polyethylene terephthalate) filament is a plastic filament that combines the properties of ABS filament (solid, temperature resistant, highly durable) with those of PLA filament (easy to print). Those properties make PETG a must-have filament for 3D printing. It is environmentally friendly and can be recycled after use. Thanks above all to its excellent chemical stability, PETG meets all the European Parliament and Council requirements for man-made substances in contact with food and medicinal products. You will find it in water bottles, clothing fibres and food containers.
Our PETG filament is exceptionally tough, sturdy and odourless. It is an excellent filament that blends strength and flexibility, which is why it is also used to print mechanical parts for robotics. Because it shrinks and warps so little, it is ideal for printing large parts. It is a material known for its glossy finish, so it is used for decorative pieces too. For good results, print at a temperature of 220-240°C and heat the print bed to 80-90°C. Note that the temperature range of the printing material may differ slightly from one printer to another. The advantage of PETG is that it is very easy to print: you do not need an enclosed 3D printer and the print speed is comparable to that of PLA filament. PETG supports itself well thanks to its strength, which helps the layers bond perfectly while printing, so the finished parts are structurally strong and stand up to mechanical stress. |
