PWM generator for stepper motor drivers
SKU 2846-PWMGENSTEPEAN 8219671118262Item type: AssembledControl electronics
Description
Pulse generator designed to interface with common stepper motor controllers. It features two operating modes: frequency and PWM. In frequency mode, a square wave signal is generated at a frequency adjustable via the onboard potentiometer. In this mode, 3 frequency ranges are selectable via jumper. In PWM mode, the module generates a pulse-width modulated signal with a duty cycle set by the potentiometer. Two switches are also available: one enables/disables the motor output, the other controls the motor rotation direction. It can be powered through two voltage ranges: 5 to 12 VDC and 12 VDC to 160 VDC.
Warning! It must be used in conjunction with a stepper motor driver; it cannot be used to drive a stepper motor directly.
Note: The power supply and stepper motors are not included.

Technical specifications
- Power supply: 5 to 12 VDC / 12 to 160 VDC. Warning! When powering via the screw terminal from 12V to 160V, the positive on the screw terminal (5 to 12 VDC) must not be connected.
- Common Anode: output for drivers with optoisolated common-anode inputs
- Common Cathode: output for drivers with optoisolated common-cathode inputs
- ENA: connect to the driver’s enable input
- DIR: connect to the driver’s direction input
- STEP: connect to the driver’s step pulse input
