Description

Real Time Clock module designed specifically for use with the Raspberry Pi. It is based on the Maxim DS1307 chip and communicates with the Raspberry Pi over the I2C bus. Inside it there is 31 bytes of static RAM and a real-time clock/calendar that keeps track of seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month and year, with leap-year correction up to 2100. Thanks to an internal back-up system using a CR1220 button cell, it can retain the data in memory even when there is no power. It also has a 5-pin header (5V, GND, 3.3V, RXD,TXD) for the TTL serial port.
