Additional Information

PLA, or Polylactic Acid, is a bio-based material obtained through the polymerization of lactic acid. This is derived from corn starch and sugar cane and is biodegradable under suitable climatic and environmental conditions. For 3D printing, it offers interesting characteristics such as a melting temperature around 160 degrees, which increases based on any other components added for coloring, and greater plasticity. PLA is rapidly spreading as a printing material both for its particularly appealing colors and transparencies and for the fewer printing-related issues. PLA parts are nonetheless strong enough to create printer parts.
