| Small Raspberry Pi module with an 8 megapixel Sony IMX219PQ image sensor and fixed 1/4″ optics. It takes stills at a resolution of 3280×2464 pixel and shoots HD video at 1080p 30 fps (720p at 60 fps), letting Raspberry Pi users build video applications and try out time-lapse and slow motion. The little module, only 23.86x25x9 mm and weighing 3 g, plugs into the CSI-2 connector of the Raspberry Pi through the 15 pin ribbon cable. Once connected, the module can be reached through the MMAL (Multi-Media Abstraction Layer) or V4L (video for Linux) API. There are also plenty of libraries available online, among them Pi camera Python. Other uses include botanical, wildlife and home security applications. Please note: there is no microphone for audio. |
