micro:bit V2 board
SKU 7300-MICROBITGOV2EAN 8219671108034Item type: Assembled, BoardDevelopment systems, micro:bit
Description
The micro:bit (V2) board packs a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 CPU, accelerometer, compass, integrated light and temperature sensors, a Bluetooth module, MEMS microphone and speaker, 4 dedicated GPIOs, a touch-sensitive micro:bit logo, 2 programmable buttons and 25 red LEDs arranged in a 5×5 matrix for developing graphical interfaces into a 4×5 cm board.
To make it easier for those taking their first steps in programming, a web simulator is available that lets you write and test your programs before downloading them to the micro:bit. Naturally, you can save your programs to your PC and pick them up again at any time. Clearly, since the micro:bit is essentially a microcontroller, Arduino-style, you can load and run only one program at a time. Numerous sample programs and several tutorials are also available.
The package includes: the micro:bit board, two AAA mini-stilo batteries, a USB-micro USB cable, a battery holder for 2 AAA batteries, and a micro:bit sticker.

Programming environments
- Microsoft MakeCode: Microsoft’s MakeCode editor is the perfect way to start programming and creating with the BBC micro:bit. The colorful blocks are familiar to anyone who has used Scratch, yet powerful enough to access all the features of this tiny computer. You can also switch to JavaScript to see the textual code behind the blocks.
- PYTHON: has been and is still being developed to allow programming microcontrollers in a Python-compatible language. The opportunity to use the Python language allows continuity, in a hypothetical educational path, towards the use of more complex systems such as microcomputers capable of hosting GNU/Linux, like the Raspberry Pi series.
- JAVASCRIPT: is a development environment that allows those who have made progress in programming to develop programs using the textual syntax of Javascript, with a guided editor that supports the “click and drag” method for composing lines and blocks of code.
